Hypoxis hirsuta (Common Goldstar) is a species of perennial herb in the family Hypoxidaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to The Contiguous United States, Canada, and Eastern North America. They have simple, broad leaves, yellow flowers, and capsule fruit. Flowers are visited by Sargus viridis, Chalcosyrphus nemorum, Eastern Hornet Fly, and Cerceris prominens. Individuals can grow to 0.8 feet.
