Travisiopsis is a genus of polychaete worms with a widespread distribution throughout many deep sea basins (Alalykina, 2013). More specifically, Travisiopsis lanceolata and T. lobifera have been recorded in Northwestern and Southern Pacific, as well as the Northern and Southern Atlantic (Uschakov, 1972). More recently, it was found in the Sea of Japan at 500m depth (Alalykina 2013). This polychaete is generally known as a pelagic, eurybathic organism (Alalykinaa, 2013).
