Diospyros simaloerensis is a tree in the family Ebenaceae. It grows up to 30 metres (100 ft) tall. The twigs dry to a greyish colour. Inflorescences bear up to five flowers. The fruits are round, up to 1.5 cm (0.6 in) in diameter. The tree is named for Simaloer island in Sumatra. Its habitat is lowland mixed dipterocarp forests from sea level to 600 metres (2,000 ft) altitude. Diospyros simaloerensis is native to Sumatra and Borneo.[2]
