De Australische toonhaai[3] (Mustelus antarcticus), ook wel Stomkophaai of Zuidelijke gladde haai,[4] is een haai uit de familie van de gladde haaien.[5][6]
Natuurlijke omgeving
De Australische toonhaai komt voor in de oostelijke Indische Oceaan, endemisch ten zuiden van Australië, van West-Australië via de Straat Bass naar Tasmanië en noordelijke Nieuw-Zuid-Wales.[7] Hij trekt rond en leeft dicht bij de zeebodem,[8] normaal gesproken tot een diepte van 80 meter,[9] met een maximum tot 350 meter.[9]
