Description: compact daisy, Erigeron compactus, Nevada, Schell Creek Range, Sidehill Pass, Cave Valley drainage, elevation 1830 m (6005 ft). Not-so-compact of a daisy in last year's wet spring, this is another species limited to the high valleys and lower slopes of the carbonate mountain ranges in the eastern Great Basin of western Utah and eastern Nevada -- except for one disjunct occurrence in the Inyo and White Mountains of eastern California.
