Description: This is the smallest known beetle in the Old World, only 0.45 mm long and very hard to photograph. It was first discovered in 1989 and described in 1997. It lives its entire life inside the pores of the fungus Phellinus conchatus which grows on the tree Salix caprea. Date: 14 August 2011, 16:07.
