Description: A two photo merge of a Yellow Faced Bumble Bee, most likely Bombus vosnesenskii, on a Louis Edmunds Manzanita in early February. This is probably a female, even though we can't see any pollen collection on her hind leg. But it appears she does have a corbicula there. Note, too, the solid yellow band across the abdomen. If we compare this bee with the Black-tailed Bumble Bee, we can see that this one has shorter hairs that are even; the Black-tailed has a more shaggy-haired appearance.
