Image of hedgehog pricklypoppy
Description:
Population extended for several km along road, the variation in intensity of yellow obvious. It may be introgressed with the yellow-flowered A. mexicana. None of the few plants I examined has any hint of purplish on stamens, characteristic of A. aenea. At area where I stopped, one plant had pale bronzish petals, another clear white petals.
