Portrait of Mastigella. Uniflagellate amoeboid cell. With conical pseudopodia, and flagellum emerges from the front of the cell (yo right) Said to be distinguishable from similar Mastigamoeba by lack of obvious connection between flagellum and nucleus. Found in stagnant freshwater with abundant decomposing leaves near Boise, Idaho. Oblique contrast
