Description:
Portrait of Mastigella. Uniflagellate amoeboid cell with flagellum emerging from the front - to the right - part of the cell. With conical pseudopodia. Said to be distinguishable from similar Mastigamoeba by lack of obvious connection between flagellum and nucleus. Found in stagnant freshwater with abundant decomposing leaves near Boise, Idaho.
