Mature Santol tree in the Philippines -- 2
Description:
Description: English: The foliage of a mature Santol Sandoricum koetjape tree. There are several early-appearing Santols (or Santol fruit) in the foreground. (Taken early-May. The harvest season begins in July.) The fruit is a dense plump ball with a tough skin that was also edible. It starts as a very strong tart taste and softens into a back-of-the-throat salty sweetness. A young child's delight. Date: 5 May 2011. Source: Own work. Author: Alex Pronove (alexcooper1).
