Description: English: A clip of a whaling expedition from the movie Down to the Sea in Ships (1922). A genuine whaling expedition was filmed for the movie. This clip shows a sperm whale being killed, stripped off blubber and drained of spermaceti. At night, the blubber is boiled on deck to extract the oil.
