Description:

Description: English: What can you do when the best bird you've ever seen is several 100m away and the light is quickly fading? Make the best of some hand-held snaps. But honestly, this is just a record shot of the most fantastic raptor I've ever seen. We were lucky enough to see it fly in - huge - and then sit still here. This was at a known nest site but the adults only visit every two or three days, There was also an enormous youngster feeding on the nest but the light was rubbish by the time we got there. Next day the youngster fledged so we were extremely lucky to get any sightings at all. I just feel immensely privileged to have seen this bird. Date: 30 August 2012, 20:13. Source: Harpy Eagle.
