Chaetoceros didymus.Closeup. Note the fine hair-like stuctures radiating from the girdle bands. Scale bar indicates 25 m. Sample from North Sea near Heligoland (spring diatom bloom). The image was built up using several photomicrographic frames with manual stacking technique.
