Brief Summary ( anglais )

fourni par EOL authors

The Tiger Rattlesnake typically finds habitat in the Upland Desert Scrub within rocky slopes or washes. Occasionally, it can be found in the desert flatlands, but rarely strays more than a mile from mountain foothills. This rattlesnake is of medium size, and has distinct “tiger” stripes across its back.

The Tiger Rattlesnake is nocturnal during summer months to avoid heat, but diurnal in the fall. They use heat sensing pits to find prey, and their diet consists of small mammals and lizards. Venom is injected through retractable fangs used to kill their prey.
