A perennial, with a woody root and cespitose caudex; stems many, prostrate, slender, terete, sparingly pubescent, 1-2 dm. long; leaves 1-4 cm. long, spreading; stipules deltoid, 2-3 mm. long, pilose; leaflets 1 1-15, rather crowded, obovate, or elliptic, rounded or retuse at the apex, villose-pilose, 3-8 mm. long; peduncles 1-1.5 cm. long; racemes short, few-flowered, reflexed; calyx pilose, the tube 2 mm. long and broad, the teeth subulate, 2 mm. long; corolla white, about 5 mm. long; banner obovate; wings shorter, the blade oblanceolate, falcate; keel-petals still shorter, the blade semi-orbicular, rounded at the apex; pod oblong, thinwalled, villous, somewhat compressed, 1 cm. long, 3 mm. wide and 2 mm. thick, slightly sulcate on the lower suture, oblong in cross-section, 5-6-seeded.
Type locality: Sierra Nevada, in Clover Valley. Distribution: Sierra County. California.
