Description: Family: Loganiaceae Distribution: Common in deciduous forests. India , Indo-China and Malaysia. Local name in Telugu: Mushti. Eng: Nuxvomica. Photographed at Eastern ghats of Nellore district, India. 6-8m tall deciduous trees. Leaves 5-8x3-7cm, orbicular-ovate, coriaceous. Flowers 6-8mm across, greenish white in short axillary cymes. Fruits 3-5cm across, globose, orrange-yellow, pericarp hard and thick. Seeds 1.5-2cm, globose, compressed, ashy-grey. Bark, and seed are used as fish poison.
