Pileus dimidiate to reniform, thin, coriaceous, 4-6 X8-12 XO-l~0-4 cm.; surface radiate-rugose, multizonate, velvety, becoming glabrous, chestnut-colored, variegated with chocolate-brown or bay-brown tints ; margin very thin, slightly paler, blackening when bruised, entire to lobed : context very thin, 1 mm. or less thick, fibrous, isabelline to umbrinous ; tubes very short, pale-umbrinous within, scarcely a mm. long, alveolar, subcircular to hexagonal, 1-2 to a mm., edges rather thick, firm, even, pallid to pale-umbrinous : spores smooth, hyaline ; hyphae 2-4 /«.
Type LOCALITY : Santo Domingo. Habitat : Dead wood. Distribution : Tropical America.
