Lumpenus fabricii és una espècie de peix de la família dels estiquèids i de l'ordre dels perciformes.[6]

Descripció

  • Fa 36,5 cm de llargària màxima.[7][8]

Alimentació

Menja crustacis, cucs, cloïsses i ous de peixos.[7]

Depredadors

És depredat pel rèmol de riu estrellat (Platichthys stellatus),[9] a Alaska per Gadus macrocephalus i el peix carboner d'Alaska (Theragra chalcogramma), i al Canadà pel bacallà de Groenlàndia (Gadus ogac).[10][11]

Hàbitat i distribució geogràfica

És un peix marí, demersal (fins als 235 m de fondària)[12] i de clima polar (82°N-45°N), el qual és circumpolar: els fons sorrencs i rocallosos (sovint en praderies marines i alguers, rarament a la zona intermareal)[13] des de l'oceà Àrtic[14][15][16][17] fins al mar de Barentsz,[18] l'oest de Groenlàndia,[19][20][21][22] el Canadà (Nova Escòcia, el Quebec[23] i els Territoris del Nord-oest),[7][24][25][26] el sud-est d'Alaska[27][28][29][30] i el nord de la mar d'Okhotsk.[31][32][33][4][8][34]

Observacions

És inofensiu per als humans.[8]
