Description: Phycis blennoides (Brünnich, 1768) (greater forkbeard) is widely distributed from 10-800 m depth in the North East Atlantic and 300-1050 m in the Eastern Mediterranean. It reaches up to 110 cm in length and may live up to 20 years. It has extremely extended pelvic fin rays.
