Adrianichthys oophorus (Kottelat 1990)

Distinguished from all other members of the family by the combination of the following characters: jaws subequal, 20-22 anal fin rays, eye diameter about equal to snout length, 33-35% HL, 58-65 scales in lateral row, 8-10 branched dorsal rays (Ref. 26747).

Carries eggs in clusters or balls (Ref. 7471). Eggs are carried, protected in a body cavity by the pelvics, until hatching (Ref. 43281).

Dorsal soft rays (total): 8 - 10; Analsoft rays: 20 - 22

The eggs are carried between the pelvic fins with each egg attached to the body by 10-20 filaments (Ref. 7050).
