I.] Any individual frog may be brown of so dark a shade that it is nearly black or so light that it is flesh color; the intermediate phases of coloration may be red, yellow or ashy in tone. (2).Rana aurora Bd. and Gird. Seattle, Washington. The different sizes represent frogs one year old, two years old, and three or more years old. (3) THE GOPHER FROG Rana aesopus Cope.
