Description :

Portrait of the chaetophoralean alga, Thamniochaete huberi (Gay,1893). The thallus, usually composed of a small number of ellipsoid to cylindrical cells, stands erect as an epiphyte on plants or other algae. The terminal cells and less often the cells between the terminal cells and lowermost cell bear long onion-shaped setae. each cell has one plastid and one pyrenoid. Collected from a freshwater pond near Boise,Idaho. July 2005.DIC.
