Description: English: Hesperocallis undulata, Desert Lily, New spring leaves from undergound bulb, in the Gila Bend Mountains, Maricopa County, Arizona. The plant is endemic to the Lower Colorado River Valley, the eastern Colorado Desert, and into central-southwestern Arizona in river valleys of the Gila River and its tributaries, and washes. This Lily produces a vertical stalk, with up to 'tens' of pods (white and large, 2.5-4 in.); each pod can have up to 50? seeds, stacked flat, like pancakes, depending on a pod's dimensions.
