Calcite-60684
Description :
Description: English: Calcite Locality: Rucks Pit, Fort Drum, Okeechobee County, Florida, USA (Locality at mindat.org) A fossil whelk shell, with a druse of calcite crystals on one side – fossilized in the same shell pit as the clams you have seen in our auctions. However, these specimens are not from new mining, as are the preceding pages of clam shells. Rather, these are from the personal collection of a quarry geologist who self-collected them during the early 1980's at a nearby but different location. These are among the best there were of the rarer replacements of the Busycon carica rucksorum (Petuch 1994) shells. 11 x 6 x 6 cm Deutsch: Calcit Fundort: Rucks Pit, Fort Drum, Okeechobee County, Florida, Vereinigte Staaten (Fundort bei mindat.org).
