Nectocaris pteryx

Image de Amiskwia

Description :

Note: This historical image is not a factually accurate paleontological restoration. Reason: This paleontological restoration of Nectocaris is regarded to be extremely inaccurate. For example, Nectocaris only had 2 arms or tentacles, this restoration is portrayed with arthropod and chordate-like features, body proportions are incorrect, siphon is missing, wrong fin shape and positions, Nectocaris is proven to be a possible mollusc as of now, but not an shrimp-like creature anymore. Therefore, it is based on a single, incompletely preserved, lateral specimen of Nectocaris.
