Description: English: Anemone japonica, a hand-coloured engraving after a drawing by Miss S. A. Drake (fl. 1820s-1840s), from the 31st volume of the Botanical Register (1845), edited by John Lindley. Although described in the 18th century, it was not grown in England until Robert Fortune introduced it through the Horticultural Society in 1844. Date: 27 April 2008.
