Arctic meadow rue, Thalictrum alpinum (26818801147)
Description :
Description: Arctic meadow rue, Thalictrum alpinum, California, White Mountains, Sheep Mountain, Fishlake Valley drainage, elevation 3623 m (11885 ft). This tidy little species is found throughout the Northern Hemisphere at arctic and boreal latitudes, and southward at alpine elevations, reaching its southern limit here in the White Mountains and adjacent Sierra Nevada, and in northern New Mexico to the east. As one would expect at its southern limit, it is also at its highest elevation limit here. In the White mountains it seems to be limited to seasonally moist carbonate and calcareous soils. Also visible in this image is alpine paintbrush (Castilleja nana). Date: 31 July 2016, 09:10. Source: Arctic meadow rue, Thalictrum alpinum. Author: Jim Morefield from Nevada, USA.
