Phthorimaea operculella (Zeller)

Gelechia (? Bryotropha) operculella Zeller, 1873:262, pl. 3: fig.17.

Meyrick (1929a:496) erroneously recorded this species from Hiva Oa (3500–4000 ft), but the two female specimens Meyrick recorded as this species are the females of Ephysteris longicornis, new species, described in the preceeding discussion.

I am including figures of the adult and the male and female genitalia to aid in identification should operculella be discovered in the islands; also the genus is retained in the key for the same reason.
