Leaf-blades ovate, oval, or oblong, 3-9 cm. long, mucronate or acute, bright-green and somewhat reticulate above, usually glabrous or nearly so, pale-green beneath, rounded or subcordate at the base, rather long-petioled ; peduncles and pedicels finely pubescent ; sepals ovate to oblong-ovate, 3.5-4 mm. long, the glands one half the length of the sepalbody or more ; larger petals 13-18 mm. long ; samaras 2-2.5 cm. long, the ventral edge of the wing with a prominent auricle at the base, the body nearly or quite crestless.
Type locality : Near Loxam, Colombia.
Distribution : Southern Mexico and Central America ; also in Colombia.
