Kuvaus:
Portrait of the rare colorless heterotrophic flagellate, Paramastix conifera (Skuja, 1948). The cell is broadly pyriform with an anterior papilla surrounded by a wreath of flagella. There is a prominent spherical nucleus and posterior contractile vacuole (seen in this image). Collected from an organically enriched freshwater spring near Boise, Idaho April 2004. DIC optics.
