Kuvaus:

Description: Native, warm-season, annual to perennial, variable herb. Stems are erect, unbranched to much-branched, hairless to very hairy and 20-100 cm tall. Lower leaves are alternately arranged, linear to ovate and 2-7 cm long, with entire, toothed or lobed margins. Flowerheads are panicles, with mostly purple heads (5-10 mm wide). Each head has 3-4 rows of purplish, hairy bracts. Flowering is in summer and autumn. Found in grasslands, woodlands, open forests and along roadsides; more common in shadier areas. Native biodiversity. Of no importance to livestock grazing, due to its limited abundance in pastures and the very small bulk it produces. No management information is available.
